A few weeks ago, the country’s favourite Rotund Retard (Mr Malema) sang the song “Kill the Boer.” Malema declared that it wasn’t an incitement to racial hatred, just reminiscing of an anti-apartheid jingle. Two problems with that: firstly he is too young to reminisce about the struggle. Secondly, it did incite hatred. Today, Eugene TerreBlanche, the epitome of Afrikaner conservative boer, was killed by his farm workers.
The ANC has dressed this up as a simple dispute over unpaid wages, and calling for the country to remain calm. It’s a bit late for that. They allowed the Malema to spread his ever-increasing racial hatred rhetoric without any reprimand stronger than a slap on the wrist. Now, a very public Afrikaans farmer is dead.
I don’t condone what TerreBlanche stood for, just as much as I don’t condone Malema’s actions. They were both wrong. But that doesn’t mean Terreblanche deserved murder.
I can only reason that Malema has been allowed to continue his rampage for so long for the simple reason that, next to him, Jacob Zuma looks positively saintly.
Update: (via Norman Conquest) – here’s a video by the good folks at the Daily Maverick of white and black protesters being separated outside the court where the two suspects are going to be heard today, 6 April. This is the kind of thing we hoped never to see in South Africa again.
