03/12/10 – Mercury Live – Punk Slam

Ladies and Gentleman, round 3 of the Punk Slam is upon us. This time around, in order to make the experience even greater, we have searched the far corners of the earth to bring you a line-up that will probably never ever be repeated on the same stage again.

Firstly we have the godfathers of all that is punk and ska in the mother city and a band that, unless you have been living in a cave in Afghanistan for the last 15 years, definitely needs no further introduction - Hog Hoggidy Hog.

Then all the way from the picturesque lands of Slovenia, after a incredibly well-received South African tour in 2008 they are back for more with the foot stomping grove skanking ska sounds of south eastern Europe - Red Five Point Star.

From slightly closer to home we have the pride of the east coast's ska punk scene who have been making a huge impression ever since their conception in 2006. All the way from Durban - Sheep Down.

Joining their fellow countrymen, on their first tour to Africa playing what can only be described as a contemporary version of The Cure meets The Clash with a bit of 80's pop and rock 'n roll attitude thrown in the mix. All the way from Slovenia - We Can't Sleep at Night.

There will also be various other events such as the ever popular boxing glove drinking competition. Anyone dressed up in boxing attire will only pay half price admission. Remember folks. This event is a once in a lifetime opportunity - Punkslam 2010 - Say you were there!
